Why cant i change the genre and add my own.Example, Smooth Jazz.

Hi,
The Genre tag list is based on a standard list in order to provide compatibility between different programs. If you created your own tags, other programs might not be able to read them. Greg |

Is there any way the various programs could be modified to allow us to create our own Genre?
For instance: I would like "Christmas"; "Gospel"; "Country Gospel"; "German"; "Italian"; etc. This gives me better control when creating various song lists. |

I'd also like to cast my vote for user-defined Genre categories. The inability to modify the Genre list (and then to be able to sort/view/select by Genre) makes the library function of the program virtually useless to me. As such, when I need to select a group of tunes from a large list, I have to manually add an entire folder to the song list, and then deselect all the ones that won't fit on a blank disc. This would be *SO* much easier if I could just create a Genre that matched my folder name (i.e. 80's, Christmas, etc), and then pick-n-choose from those.

I find this one of the only real faults in the program after over a year of use. Particularly, I find the omission of a "Holiday" or "Christmas" category the most glaring fault. I realize that you are pulling from a standardized list, but this list is incomplete.

I was just coming here to complain about just this lack of control over the genre and then I saw that that are other normal people like me already having this problem. Can we please get this sorted out Acoustica. Most other burn programs already recognise this and it does not matter that other programs will or will not recognise it - but it matters that I catalogue my music the way I want to. This particular feature is so restrictive that I have often had to use other tools to burn my CDs instead.
I hope Acoustica recognises this as a genuine feature that most people want and respond accordingly. The same applies to restricting the burning of the CD to a maximum of 80 minutes (see my other thread on this here: Burning CD restricted to a maximum of 80 minutes) Ferdie |

I finally decided to purchase another program, because of this limitation in the CD Burner. This was a difficult decision, because I found the Acoustica
excellent in all other respects. I did have to convert my Library, but the new company agreed to do it for me.
