(This was submitted earlier in the Mixcraft Forum)

Situation: You've created a "mega-mix", but you've decided that a section of music in the middle just doesn't fit and needs to be deleted.
Now you need to move all the tracks following that deleted section back as a group and join them to the track preceding the deleted section without messing up any of their cue/transition points.

You could move each one separately and reset each of their transition points with each move, OR you can use a technique that will move all of those tracks at one time together as a group.

The following procedure will allow you to move a block of tracks as a group without messing up their existing transitions.

(1) Zoom out so that you can see all the tracks that you need to move.

(2a) If you can select all the tracks easily by clicking on them, hold down the "CTRL" (control) key while clicking on the tracks.
(2b) If you can't select them all individually, click and hold the left mouse button and drag the cursor to "paint" over all the tracks you want to move.

You have now "grouped" all the tracks that you need to move into one "selection set". This means that you can now move them all together without disturbing any of their transitions.

You can move them all now but, since you are zoomed out, you won't be able to execute this with any precision.

And if you attempt to zoom back in now to get that precision, you will be forced to zoom to a position somewhere to the middle of your selected tracks and then you will have to maneuver back to where the new transition point should be.

The next step is the "magic" that will allow you to select an exact point to zoom in and still retain your track grouping.

(3) Once you have all the tracks selected, place the pointer inside one of the tracks in your selection where it becomes a "hand" cursor. Click and hold the left mouse button and move the tracks just slightly to the left or right and then release the button.

(4) Now, find the position close to where you want to move those tracks and WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE "CTRL" KEY AGAIN, click on an empty spot to set your cursor there for your zoom-in position.
Note: if you do this without holding down the control key, you will lose your selection set of tracks.

(5) You can now zoom in to the cursor by using the zoom-in "+" key so that the new location and the leading track of your selection set can still be seen.

(6) Again, place your pointer in one of your selected tracks so that the cursor becomes a hand, left-click and hold to move it, along with all the other selected tracks, into place with more precision.

Setting a "marker" at the exact point where you want to place the tracks will help in getting everything positioned correctly the first time.
With your tracks now repositioned, listen to the new transition. If you've missed the cue point, just repeat the steps and fine-tune the placement.
Again, setting markers make finding those placement points a lot easier.

With a bit of practice, this procedure will become almost second nature (until a GROUP feature can be added - hint hint)!

Hope this helps!
