I have a licensed copy of the fraunhauffer codec which in my expierience is much faster than lame at conversions. (nothing against lame) So is there a way I can use this codec instead with audio converter plus?

Hi,
Yes, just place its DLL in the MP3 to Wave Converter PLUS folder, then go into the MP3 settings options and choose that encoder. Greg |

I tried placing the new Fraunhofer's MP3 ACM professional codec (included with Windows Media Player 10) named l3codecp.acm in the directory for Audio Coverter Pro but no success at getting your program to recognize the Fraunhofer MP3 codec for encoding. This codec is supposed to allow unlimited encodings at a variety of bitrates. Any suggestions?
Also, I was able to replace the older 3.93.1 LAME dll included with the current version of Audio Converter Pro with a newer 3.96.1 LAME dll and that appears to work. Wonder why you guys don't ship the latest version of the LAME encoder with the program? Thanks for the great support and prompt replies. It will make for a better product and happy customers |

Hi,
Perhaps that version of Fraunhofer's encoder isn't designed to be used with other programs. We haven't tested that. In regard to the LAME encoder, I logged your request that we update to 3.96.1. We don't always rush to update to the latest one, in case there are problems. Greg |
