Any chance you guys could include .ape (monkeys audio) as a supported format in this app? I use it to rip cd's to .ape and then make mp3's or cd's as needed.

Hi,
So far, we haven't supported any lossless formats. We've had various requests for WMA lossless, flac and shn, but this is the first I've heard of .ape. I'll log this as a feature request. Greg |

Yes, .ape is similar to flac, dbpoweramp converts and rips to .ape
Just thought if your product did the job, i wouldn't need to use that. |

My trial is out on dbpoweramp, have to spend $14 now so I can keep "aping".

I have searched all day for a program that will do these things.
rip a cd to a single or multiple .ape files and create a .cue file for them Convert .ape to other formats Burn .ape files to cd using the .cue sheet I came up with having to use 3 different apps to do this. Anybody at Acoustica want to add these features? reading forums, I am guessing a lot of people would be slap happy if they found an app to do all 3. |

How many people on the forums have asked for .ape format, though? Most people seem to want shn, flac or WMA lossless.
Of course, I haven't sat down and done a survey on this topic.  We're busy working on the LP/Cassette digitization program right now. I'll add your latest comments to the feature request. |

Yeah that's true. Most people know flac as the standard lossless compression format. I have no clue why I went ape (joke).
But, now I have loads of cd's ripped to .ape format and as of now have to convert them back to wav to burn a cd. One thing though, any app i have come across that supports flac, aif, or other lossless, also supports ape. Just a thought, don't go banana's (joke#2) over it, I can live with using what I have. Thanks. |

If you convert an mp3 to ape, the quality is only as good as the mp3 was and you are not gaining anything. ape is a lossless format that is best used from cd to ape so you always have a way to recreate the original cd. Just fyi |
