Posts: 5 (10/18/05 07:23:36) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None Hi All, I have 2 (related I think) issues that I need to clarify BEFORE purchase ;-) a) I'm importing a Stereo DrumTrack on track 1. Subsequently when I try to record my guitar on Track 2, I can hear drums in track 2. WHY?? Is that because the original WAV was stereo and therefore MixCraft takes 2 track? Q: WHY don't you show me you take up 2 track then? b) My guitar comes in through a MONO channel. b.1) When I set preferences to record MONO NOTHING gets recorded! (I think it's a bug unless i'm doing somethign stupi... quite possible:-) b.2) WHEN I leave the default STEREO, then obviously I get teh guitar ONLY on ONE channel... which i VERU annoying as I want it panned=0 or very much central and I cannto figure it out hwo to do it... THANK YOU ALL for feedback! MZ

Posts: 584 (10/18/05 07:37:05) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Your recording device is most likely set to record "stereo Mix" rather than "line in" or "microphone", this should fix all your problems. It's not a bug in mixcraft. Double click your speaker icon in your system tray, choose options>properties and then click recording. Put a check mark in line in and microphone, then click ok. Then "select" line in or microphone (whichever input on the sound card you are using. That is why your drum track shows up in your guitar recording.

I tried what you said, but in MONO mode it still does not record. In Stereo it does BUT it's all panned on one side. -Whne Ctrl-R for recording, in that window, I get a list of available drivers. I can see -Default Wave device -SigmaTel C-Major Audio (Dell Laptop driver) and the one I want (Roland/Edirol) -U-8 WAVE IN It's a MONO stream from a guitar pre-amped unit. TX for any further suggestions... MZ

Posts: 584 (10/18/05 10:42:22) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have never recorded via USB so I'm not going to be much help on this one. Seems like you might get a latency problem though since usb is slower than pci to respond.

With one other product I can see that there is a "U-8 WAVE IN R"_ight and a "U-8 WAVE IN L"_eft while in your Sequencer I can only see the "U-8 WANE IN" channel... It's an ASIO driver... To be fair I have jsut found out that even the other Sequencer does not record anything on the LEFT channel (so that is my problem with my USB setup), Nevertheless, as I do nto care about Stereo Signal -as I'll creat it in eth mixdown operation, I would like to be able to have "centrally" my MONO input. --I think what is happening is a) you MONO Radio Button by default lock on the LEFT channel (which in my case does not send anything), therefore I have NO sound. b)When I select STEREO -and indeed it does record, IT can only record from the RIGHT CHANNEL as it is the only one SENDING in anything... uhm... it's a bit of a pickle I have to say... -Yes the unit I have is 4 years old... but the drivers do work on XP... --ENhancement Rewuest: IS it possible that when I select teh MONO radio button you allow me to browse the LEFT or Right Channel?? Posts: 5 (10/18/05 13:42:43) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Hi Guys, Again, Let me confirm FYI that utilizing a third Sequencer, I was abel to select which MON Ochannel I wanted to utilize (my right one in this case). The Audio Stream coming in would then be recorded as a "normal" centered panned audio file, which means I can "pan" it where I want to. -Is my Enhancement Request reasonable? The above mentioned Sequencers are in your "market space". Thank you again MZ
